The Challenge
The roof was leaking badly. Earlier this year, another contractor had tried to waterproof the roof with some bitumen membrane, furthermore they dumped some mortar/concrete mix on the metal roof, a complete disaster.The Solution
The concrete was removed. The roof was cleaned thoroughly. An Aluminium sheet (1.2mm thick) flashing was fabricated and installed. The joints were reinforced with 100% Aluminium rivets, and then sealed with Hydro-Shield Polyester Fabric, embedded in Eka-Coat Hydro-Shield Cool Roof Coat. Finally, the roof was pressure washed and then spray coated with Eka-Coat Hydro-Shield Cool Roof Coat. The roof is totally waterproofed and the roof temperature also dropped by 22 ° C.

Someone tried their best to prevent the leaks, by dumping concrete on the metal roof!
A total disaster. A lesson on how not to build a roof.
The contractor had run out of ideas, he tried to prevent leaks with a bitumen membrane — failed miserably.
Further cleaning to get some real waterproofing installed.

Bitumen (Tar) should never be applied on the roof.
The joints were reinforced with 100% aluminium rivets and then sealed with Hydro-Shield Polyester Fabric, embedded in Eka-Coat Hydro-Shield Roof Coat.
The 100% polyester fabric and the Pure Acrylic Roof Coat deliver 100% waterproofing.
The end-laps are also sealed with the same system.
A new Aluminium flashing (1.2mm thick), with filler blocks was installed.
All joints and water ingress points were sealed.
Many of the fasteners had to be replaced. They were also waterproofed with Hydro-Shield.
Pressure Washed at 2500psi to clean the roof and check for any leaks. No leaks found.
